The life of an ordinary guy who's a lot like you. You'll find his struggles, successes and possibly, some similarities too.
Why Just a guy?
Here's why Just a Guy is here:
Every day, I'm surrounded by images or videos of perfect and brilliant people.
- If I explore fitness, they all have six pack abs and biceps the size of my legs.
- If I'm exploring God and who He is, the authors and pastors seem to have all the answers and everything together in their lives.
- If I wonder about fishing and boating, the videos and programs all show the guide or host catching a fish on every cast and never having an issue with their boat!
- Politics, I find anger, insult and commentary based on some 'perfect knowledge' that "if you don't agree with it, you're against us AND an IDIOT"!
While I don't begrudge anyone their success, in fact, I admire them, I wonder about those of us who don't have everything in perfect order? What about those of us who are "Just Guys"?
Those of us that...
- Struggle to pray and go to church as often as we think we should
- Want to be healthier, but diets and exercise don't produce a six pack
- Love the water, but have a ton of questions and lack some skills
- Have ideas about our political situation, but don't want to denigrate others
Who is One of Us Guys?
Who are we? Well, we are:
- Men and women
- Big and little
- Married and single
- Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles
- Black, white, brown and everything in between
- Republicans, Democrats and Independents
We are the people that work hard, support those we love and do our best to be our best. At the same time, we're very busy and have to prioritize our efforts, time and resources.
What you'll find here is...
the life of a guy. I'm no better or worse than anyone. I have successes and failures and I hope by sharing them we'll create a community that comes alongside others.
